Scuba Diver Sites Indonesaia - Bangka Islands
In the northern tip of the mainland of Sulawesi, between Bunaken and Lembeh, you can find a group of tropical islands with white sandy beaches and beautiful coral reefs, orange, yellow and red soft corals everywhere and rare nudibranchs.
This is the third diving area of Bangka Islands with amazing soft corals and even more critters. This group of islands and the adjoining coast is known for the strong currents and the pelagic and the large school of fishes you can find here and also you can find plenty of colorful and beautiful reef.
Many spots around the sprawling island are pristine, frontier dive destinations just waiting to be explored.
There are 4 villages around the island located along the shore. The interesting dive sites lie all to the east side of Bangka Island and along the northeast coast of the mainland.
This is an underwater pinnacle, the reef is very steep and there are some small caves. Here you can see schools of fish (batfish, butterflyfish, bannerfish, snappers) and turtles. Sometimes there are mackerels and dogtooth tunas.

Tanjung Slop
Tanjung Slop (Pulisan house reef): This is a typical house reef. Here it’s easy to see humpback scorpion fish, blue ribbon eel, colorful frogfish, leaf fish and several nudibranchs, just to name some. Very beautiful also the coral in this dive site, including big sea fan.

Sahaung
Sahaung (Sahaong) is one of the most famous dive sites around the Bangka islands. The dive site consists of a series of large underwater pinnacles that break the surface. There is an area where the pinnacles seem to form giant steps. The landscape is very beautiful with orange soft corals, sponges and sea fans. Everywhere are snappers, surgeon fish, and fusiliers and trigger fish. You can also see pygmy seahorses, eagle ray, moray eels and school of glassfish’s. Most times there are small sharks under the table corals. There can be strong currents and surges at shallower depths. The southeast tip of Sahaung is also very good for diving.
